Almost a year ago, C., M. and I went to a concert in Rodgau, the first one where I took photos. I didn't know the rules, I partly made it difficult for the musicians, partly for myself, and I want to think that I have improved since then.
But be that as it may, we enjoyed big time - thank you,
Singer Ray Wilson Keyboardist Filip Wałcerz Guitarist Ali Ferguson Guitarist Steve Wilson My favourite song of the night? Hard to say but this one was certainly one of them.
On a stage, there are always two things, even before the artist appears: glasses/bottles and interesting but difficult lighting. Here a combination of both:
The PP I did here was brightening the photo in several little steps, slightly increasing contrast, cleaning with NeatImage (I had to use ISO 1600 since flash was not an option) and finally sharpening for the net.
Kieran Goss, a Northern Irish singer and songwriter, was the supporting act of the concert I went to last Friday. He was extremely entertaining, spoke very good German (he had been living in Cologne 20 years ago) and his voice is very strong and full. He may not be a beauty but what a personality:
PS: I didn't know his music before but now one of my favourites is Reasons To Leave.
After a long while here another time lapse video that I made several months ago in Apolda. I had taken hundreds of pictures for two previous videos and so in the making of the last one, the moon, my camera's battery let me down - hence a very short little film.
This portrait of the city at night was taken on the last day of Luminale, hence in spring. I wonder if it looks any different from those taken in winter. Does it?
One side of the river Main in Frankfurt is called Museumsufer ("Museums embankment") because obviously, it is paved with museums. This statue of light was standing in front of the Museum für Kommunikation and you have to admit that it could be a good conversation starter ;-)
I have to be immodest here but I think this picture is poster material again - the perfect composition of fountain, moon above and photographer+camera silhouette in front of it...
The name of this Statue, erected in 1985 in the park between Old Opera and ECB tower is "Aufforderung" (invitation or calling). You can use your imagination to figure out what it is inviting you to... Lit in green during Luminale.
This picture is the start of a new short series (a week at the most). Yesterday, Luminale 2010 ended and I grabbed the opportunity to take a lottt of pictures. I'll start by showing you the installation in front of the stock market.
Even though this is evening and another example of my experiments with street lights shot through self-made bokeh lenses, in the shape of little stars this time...
Always at the full hour after 10 p.m., thousands of little lights start flickering all over the Eiffel Tower. I captured this spectacle with my Nikon 2200 (in pre-SLR times), without a tripod and holding my breath...
