I want to show that I am not partial to women, so here a photo of a drummer boy from Madagascar:
Here the partially desaturated version (which I think is my favourite):
In sepia:
and black and white:
Which one do you like best after all?

This is a great shot. Milder light would have helped but what can you do! The hat, the drum, the coat, the skin, the smile..... Perfect :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, I value the appreciation, especially as it is coming from a serious critique like you :-)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, there was nothing I could do about the light since the parade took place on the brightest midday you can imagine
You know I was thinking about this. Can you perhaps try a black and white and a sepia shot of this? Just 2 fade that coloured T shirt behind away. or maybe the current picture will eventually look the best because its essentially monochrome framed by colour on either side. There is no room to crop.
ReplyDeleteI will try b/w and sepia and just now had the idea of desaturating just yellow in the picture which would fade away both yellow t-shirts on either side. It'd concern two stripes on the drum as well but I will give it a try just to see.
ReplyDeletelol no blondes around which is a good thing! only dark hair and 1 bald guy :-)
ReplyDeletewow I'd never thought I'd say no blondes would be a good thing!
I think the black and white - no distractions just the subject and his awesome skin and the high wattage carefree smile :-) Great shot. Congratulations once again and Thank you for all the effort.
ReplyDeleteThank you again and I live for this, so any effort is welcome :)
